Full Spectrum vs. Isolate
What Is CBD Isolate?
When extracting CBD from a Cannabis plant, a broad range of other compounds are also extracted. The strain of Cannabis plant used will determine the profile of compounds that are extracted along with CBD. Then, the extract is refined to include only the compounds required for the specific product being produced. Based on the final composition of compounds, the CBD will be labelled as CBD Isolate or Full Spectrum CBD.
CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD because all of the other compounds are removed, ensuring that the final product contains only pure CBD and no other active cannabinoids. CBD Isolate is THC-FREE and has no psychoactive effects.
What Is Full Spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum CBD contains all of the compounds extracted from the Cannabis plant - including terpenes, essential oils, and a vast array of other cannabinoids. In other words, it contains the entire spectrum of cannabinoids and has the ability to offer enhanced therapeutic effects. The combined therapeutic effects of all of the active cannabinoids in Full Spectrum CBD is called, "The entourage Effect".
Full Spectrum CBD does contain trace amounts of THC (below 0.3%), so it will not produce any psychoactive effects.
